As our cells continue to grow and replicate our DNA copies its genetic data into the new cells, and while the occasional copying error happens, it only happens about one in ten thousand base pairs. That’s pretty impressive, right? On top of that our bodies have checkpoints in place to make sure the errors that do occur get tossed out so they don’t harm us.
